Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love missed two games this season with a knee injury. He has only played in five games and has looked like one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this season. Love has completed 61.5% of his passes for 1,351 yards, 13 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.
He is tied for second in the NFL in passing touchdowns this season with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson. One of the biggest criticisms of Love this season has been his decision-making at times. Despite all of this, Green Bay is 5-2 this season.
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky Makes Critical Comment About Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love
On Tuesday during NFL Live, ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky commented about the Packers star quarterback. He discusses with Andrew Hawkins how head coach Matt LaFleur’s play calls should influence his performance moving forward. Orlovsky said:
“[Jordan Love] needs to separate the quarterback he is and the quarterback that the situation calls for.”
This is interesting because he can throw it like Aaron Rodgers once did for the Packers and can make boneheaded decisions with the football like Brett Favre used to do. Yes, Love should be criticized for some of the decisions he makes with the football, but the Packers are willing to take risks with him.
Other Key Stats
For now, Love is ranked 18th in the NFL in passing yards. By the time the 2024 season ends, there is no question that he could be in the Top 10. According to ESPN, he is tied for first with the most interceptions this season with Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Gardner Minshew of the Las Vegas Raiders.
It is okay for Love to have all of those touchdowns and interceptions. It is not okay if he would have only four touchdowns and eight interceptions this season.
