In Week 5, the Green Bay Packers will travel to Los Angeles to face Matthew Stafford and the Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, October 6.
The Green Bay Packers are 2-2 this season, with their most recent loss against Minnesota (31-29). Green Bay trailed 28-0 in the first half, but they nearly accomplished an incredible comeback in the fourth quarter. The Packers outgained Minnesota 465-374 lost the turnover fight 4-3 and were 4-12 on third down during the game. Jordan Love passed for 389 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions, while Jayden Reed had seven receptions for 139 yards and one touchdown.
The Los Angeles Rams are 1-3 this season after they lost to Chicago by a score of 24-18 in their last game. Los Angeles led 6-0 in the second quarter and the game went back and forth, but Chicago scored a touchdown with about 12 minutes left in the fourth to pull away. The Rams outgained Chicago by a total of 322-264, lost the turnover battle 2-0, and went 5-11 on third down in the game. Matthew Stafford threw for 224 yards and one interception, while Tutu Atwell caught four passes for 82 yards.
Packers vs Rams Key players to watch: QB Jordan Love
Packers starting quarterback Jordan Love was out for two games due to an MCL injury and struggled in the first half against Minnesota. He bounced back to throw four touchdowns and 389 yards, but he also threw three interceptions. Los Angeles has a worse defense than Minnesota, which should help Love get back on track. RB Kyren Williams
Los Angeles doesn’t have many healthy weapons right now, but Kyren Williams is dominating. The Rams running back scored three times in Week 3 before rushing for 94 yards and a touchdown on 19 touches in Week 4. He should face a significant workload against the Packers.
Packers vs Rams Prediction
I believe the Packers will win this game since the Rams have struggled defensively in 2024.
Los Angeles has allowed the second-most points in the league (115), trailing only the Carolina Panthers. The Rams rank worst in yards per play and allow the fourth-most yards per rush in the league.
This is an ideal matchup for Green Bay’s offense, which has scored 25.5 points in three of four games, including 29 points in both of Jordan Love’s starts. Love passed for 389 yards and four touchdowns in Week 4, and I anticipate him to perform even better with another week of knee rehab under his belt.
