Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams is the talk of the NFL world at the moment after it was reported that he had already informed the Las Vegas Raiders of his desire to get traded.
Will former Green Bay Packers teammates Davante Adams, Aaron Rodgers reunite?
It is becoming clear that Adams is not happy with the Raiders, who are also said to have laid out an ask for teams interested in trading for the talented wideout. One team said to be an ideal trade destination for Adams is t he New York Jets.
Via NFL insider Jordan Schultz:
Sources: #Raiders WR Davante Adams has been considering a trade request out of Las Vegas for weeks. Last season, his camp even approached the team about a potential change of scenery, but made no official request. Adams is aware that his contract makes a trade possible, and he has a few preferred destinations if the Raiders decide to move him. The #Jets are one of those teams.
It’s not hard to imagine why Adams would like to play for the Jets next.
Two words: Aaron Rodgers
Adams and Rodgers, of course, go way back. They played eight seasons together during their time with the Packers. Of he 96 touchdown catches Adams has recorded so far in his NFL career, 69 came with Rodgers playing with him.
Rodgers will be turning 41 years old in December but he still seems to be a much better quarterback than anyone the Raiders have this season.
It will be interesting to see whether the Jets would be among the teams that will join the Davante Adams sweepstakes.
The 31-year-old Adams has two more seasons in his current contract beyond the 2024 campaign but there is a potential out on his deal in 2025.
