For the first time in over 25 years, the Green Bay Packers will have someone other than Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers will be under center. Jordan Love has spent the last three years in the shadows of A-Rod and now has the opportunity to prove what he can do. Expectations are high in Green Bay, and fans are excited to see what their new quarterback can do. The team believes they can win the division this year and hopes he will be the franchise quarterback for years to come. But what if he doesn’t live up to expectations and is an absolute bust? What quarterbacks could Green Bay target in next year’s draft?
#1. Caleb Williams- USC

As a Packers fan, the thought of being able to get a generational player like Caleb Williams excites me. While I want to see Green Bay win the Super Bowl and rub it in Rodgers’ face, the thought of having a player being compared to Patrick Mahomes is exhilarating. He is a true dual-threat quarterback that runs a 4.56 in the 40. He stands 6’1 and weighs 215 lbs. Williams has exceptional arm power and the accuracy to match. He would have Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Aaron Jones at his disposal and a decent offensive line to protect him. He would ensure the Packers are contenders for 10+ years.
#2. Drake Maye- North Carolina

This dude has everything the scouts look for in a quarterback. He stands 6’4″, weighs 220 lbs, and runs a 4.55 in the 40. He has a cannon for an arm and can deliver the ball to all three levels of the field. Mayes possesses total ball control and can throw with high velocity if necessary. He can sense pressure, escape, and deliver accurate throws on the run. Maye reminds me more of a Packers-esque quarterback than any other quarterback in the draft.
#3. Quinn Ewers- Texas

Ewers stands 6’2′ and weighs in at 206 lbs. He has shown the ability to be an accurate quarterback and has the power to make any throw necessary. He is a pocket-passer and could use a few extra pounds. Ewers also does a good job throwing on the run and has a high football IQ. What worries me about Ewers is his inconsistent throwing mechanics and ability to stay calm under pressure.
#4. Bo Nix- Oregon

Football Oregon Football Spring Game
Bo Nix is one of the most underrated QBs in the country, and I absolutely love him. He plays the game with heart and has the skills to win in the NFL. Nix stands 6’2″ and weighs 213 lbs. He ran a 4.58 in the 40 and posted a 4.07 shuttle time. He can complete any pass to anywhere on the field and has the ability to read defenses very well. I would like to see him improve his arm strength and accuracy, but Nix is a solid player.
Final Thoughts on the Green Bay Packers Quarterback Situation with Jordan Love
It’s fun to imagine what if, but in reality, Jordan Love has shown great potential in training camp and has fans like me excited. Love has learned a lot from Aaron Rodgers, and I think he can lead the Pack to a division title this year. He has a plethora of weapons at his disposal, and while he may not be the fastest guy on the field, he won’t be afraid to take off and run. At 6’4″ and weighing 225 lbs., he has the size to stand tall in the pocket and scan the field. Love also possesses good arm strength and accuracy. We even saw him doing Mahomes-like things in training camp.
