The Green Bay Packers are going to be a very different team in 2023. They are younger, they are faster, and they are a great deal more inexperienced. Oh, and they have a new starting quarterback.
Undoubtedly, the transition from an 18-year veteran (and future Hall of Famer) in Aaron Rodgers to a young Jordan Love is going to cause changes. While these changes also bring questions, optimism and confidence is through the roof at 1265 Lombardi Avenue.
Earlier this morning on Good Morning Football, Packers Pro Bowl left guard Elgton Jenkins talked about what he will miss about Rodgers and what he is excited about regarding playing with Love.
What Elgton Jenkins Will Miss about Having Aaron Rodgers on the Green Bay Packers

An 18-year NFL veteran, there is little in the game that Rodgers has not seen or experienced. With such experience comes stories, and those stories are both entertaining and important for the education of younger players. It also brings with an an air of leadership.

All of these are things that Jenkins mentioned he would miss about Rodgers in 2023:
“Just his presence in the locker room and the things that he brings to the game, the experience, all the stories that he had to tell and all that, he’s gonna be missed in our locker room, for sure.”
Say what one will about Rodgers and his personal beliefs, there is no denying that he is one of the most intelligent players to ever play the game. While his body let him down last year, his insight and understanding of the game was still top notch. If anything, that is what the Packers will miss the most going forward without him.
Elgton Jenkins Is Excited for the Green Bay Packers’ Future with Jordan Love

Love, of course, has spent the last three seasons learning from Rodgers has his backup quarterback. To Rodgers’ credit, he actually took the time to teach and mentor Love, something that Brett Favre did not do for him. Because of this, Love is coming into the season with a great deal more maturity and professionalism than some may have expected.
Jenkins spoke of this and more when he explained what he is looking forward to regarding Love being the starting quarterback:
“When he first got in the league, he wasn’t our starter, but the way that he walked around the locker room, the way that he approached the game, he always approached every game as a starter.
“So we know that he’s a good player and just ready to go on Sunday or whenever we play. In OTAs, I’ve seen a lot of good things from Jordan, a lot of leadership — he stepped up as a leader a lot — so I’m very excited for his future and ready to play with him.”
It is really noteworthy that, for the last three years, Love has approached every week, every game, as if he were the starting quarterback. Love knows what he needs to do in order to be ready week in and week out. He knows what he needs to do as the leader of the offense.
Jenkins is just the latest of a slew of veteran players that have praised Love and h

is abilities so far this offseason. Most recently, cornerback Jaire Alexander told reporters that Love was the best quarterback in the league. Aaron Jones, on multiple occasions, expressed his faith and excitement about playing with Love.
Maybe, just maybe, those professionals know what they’re talking about.
