The Green Bay Packers released their depth chart Tuesday ahead of their first preseason game this Friday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. Fans reacted to several shockers on the release.

    Packers News

Many changes to the roster were expected as the Packers transition to the Jordan Love era. Several key position battles are going on at training camp. The Packers drafted two tight ends, and one, Tucker Kraft, isn’t in the top two of the depth chart.

The Packers also have a big decision as to who will be the starting safety alongside Darnell Savage. That role currently belongs to Rudy Ford. The offensive line and wide receiver groups should see shakeups as well.

Another notable change in the release is that defensive coordinator Joe Barry will be calling plays in the coaches’ box against the Bengals instead of on the sideline.

Green Bay Packers fans react to the new Depth Chart

Fans voiced their opinions about what surprised them when the chart was released. Here are the best takes on the Packers’ new roster order.

    Deguara officially at fullback👀 https://t.co/XPApBFhqJK

Penn State alum Sean Clifford has the backup job at the moment in Green Bay. https://t.co/gprjgSRKvC

Kenny Clark at DE not DT
    Musgrave starting at TE
Myers at C and Tom at RT
    Savage & Ford at safety

Few things that stick out to me. https://t.co/RZ4dKNC4uA

Reed will be WR3 when Week 1 gets here. Myers/Tom starting (as it should be) https://t.co/HAbFPMaxev

Interesting that Toure is listed as the starting slot even though Reed has seen more snaps, although I expect Reed to start in the regular season. Deguera is now what he always was a FB/HBack. Hollins and Valentine don’t surprise me https://t.co/pOnfddeYE7

Bittersweet not seeing Mason Crosby at K https://t.co/1tut6hvbzt

    — Andrue Lee (@andruelee) August 8, 2023

Seeing tucker behind Davis is interesting https://t.co/jvxhXQxBKX

    — Jake Talks Sports (@jaketalksports3) August 8, 2023

Innis Gaines listed as the backup Nickel is interesting. Might be the end of Shemar Jean-Charles’ tenure in GB, unfortunately we never really saw anything from him https://t.co/lM8n4FERwU

    — Lambo🧀🌊🎷 (@Lambo_GB) August 8, 2023

    A few interesting takeaways here…
    1. Samori Toure beat out Jayden Reed as a starter
    2. Van Ness will likely be in the Gary year 1 role
    3. Keisean Nixon more than just a specialist now? 🤔

Also, can we just find a new role for Joe Barry… like waterboy or something?? https://t.co/1jcF0AntJl

    — Jakob Katz (@KatzWriteSports) August 8, 2023

Luke Musgrave really been HIM from Day 1🥲🥲 Happy for dude. https://t.co/g3WpNpbCON

    Mayfield 2
