The New York Jets and Green Bay Packers have had a very interesting off-season together. Of course, their Aaron Rodgers trade has headlined the off-season. However, there have been many other storylines that have been connected to that trade. Nathaniel Hackett, Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, and Billy Turner have all joined forces with the Jets, all of whom have had a direct relationship with the four-time MVP QB. A recent report indicates that the Jets are desperate for a left tackle, and there happens to be one in the league who is best friends with that QB.
New York Jets In A Desperate Spot For A Reliable Left Tackle

According to John Buhler of Fansided:
With former first-round pick Mekhi Becton having his fifth-year option declined, the New York Jets are unsettled at figuring out who will be Aaron Rodgers’ blind-side protectors for this NFL season.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh said that five players will be competing for the two starting tackle spots. Becton will have his work cut out for him with Duane Brown, Cedric Ogbuehi, Max Mitchell and Billy Turner all duking it out for playing time. Becton may view himself as a left tackle, but Saleh said he has to earn it: “Go earn the left tackle.” Why would he not want to protect Rodgers?
Let’s be real. Had the Jets gotten better quarterback last year, Gang Green would have made the playoffs going away. Joe Douglas has built quite the roster. Saleh certainly made great strides in year two as a head coach. His defense was flying around and guys were making plays all over the field on both sides of the ball. Too bad the Zach Wilson pick was the 2021 version of Josh Rosen…
Having five players fight over arguably the second most important position on offense when you have a brand new four-time MVP quarterback at helm doesn’t show a ton confidence in who they have on the roster. The New York Jets are desperate to find someone reliable for Aaron Rodgers’ blindside. Many rumors have been flying around about David Bakhtiari being a trade target for the New York Jets. Currently, the Jets are far from a solidified answer at the left tackle position and the Packers are likely to move on from Bakhtiari after the 2023 season.
If the Green Bay Packers have long-term faith in Yosh Nijman, getting a valuable draft pick (like a second round pick) for someone who will likely be gone after the 2023 season makes too much sense.

#salarycap… pack would have to eat a ton of dead cap for that to happen since nobody is gonna write off that much $ just to play for their buddy
I would trade Bakhtiari anywhere but to the Jets.
