NBA rumors: Joel Embiid sent shockwaves across the NBA after he came out with some pretty contentious comments about his future with the Philadelphia 76ers. When the reigning MVP said that he wants to win a championship at all costs — “whether it’s in Philly or anywhere else” — a lot of talk emerged about Embiid potentially following in James Harden’s footsteps by eventually demanding a trade away from the Sixers.
NBA Rumors: Joel Embiid, Trae Young, Zach LaVine Could All Ask Out?
This stunning development has led to Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report coming out with an eye-opening list of superstars that could potentially jump ship from their respective teams in the near future. Apart from Embiid, Buckley believes that Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks and Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls could also be on their way out sooner rather than later.
Young’s Atlanta exit is not something that has been plucked out of thin air. Last season, reports emerged that the front office explored trade options for their entire roster, which apparently, also included Trae Young. The 24-year-old also had a highly-publicized spat with ex-head coach Nate McMillan, which somewhat put Young’s tenure with the team into question. With the growing amount of frustration in Atlanta over the past five years since he joined the squad, it would not be a complete shocker if Trae asks out soon.
The same case could be argued for Zach LaVine in Chicago. Much like Young, LaVine also saw his name dragged into trade rumors this past season, with the Bulls supposedly “quietly gauging” his value in the market. The Bulls’ Big 3 of LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic hasn’t exactly worked out as planned, and based on recent developments, LaVine could be the odd man out for the Bulls. That is unless the two-time All-Star demands a trade first.
NBA Rumors: Could Giannis Antetokounmpo Follow In Their Footsteps?
Milwaukee Bucks fans will be glad to know that Giannis Antetokounmpo was not named on the aforementioned list. However, it is worth noting that just recently, reports emerged about opposing teams monitoring Giannis’ situation in Milwaukee. Antetokounmpo is going to be eligible to sign another contract extension this summer, and if he decides not to put pen to paper then this would potentially sound the alarm for the rest of the league.
Giannis has been nothing but loyal to Milwaukee thus far, but now that he’s already done it all for the Bucks, could he be considering taking on a new challenge with another team?
