At this point, it would be safe to say that It has been an eventful offseason in the NBA thus far. The NBA rumors have been mostly dominated by James Harden and Damian Lillard as these two superstars both try and navigate a trade away from their repsective teams.
As it turns out, there could be a path wherein both guards are able to get their wish in one blockbuster four-team trade.
NBA Rumors: Projected Blockbuster Four-Team Deal Involving Blazers, Heat, Clippers, Sixers
Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report has proposed a pretty wild deal that will undoubtedly shift the landscape of the entire NBA. The proposed trade involves the Portland Trail Blazers, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Miami Heat, and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The premise here is that Harden wants a move to LA, while Lillard’s preferred destination is Miami. Swartz finds a way to make all this work in one complex blockbuster deal.
For starters, the Heat finally get their man in Lillard along with Marcus Morris Sr. from the Clippers. For their part, LA get their hands on James Harden and PJ Tucker. The Sixers land former Sixth Man of the Year Tyler Herro, Caleb Martin, Robert Covington, and two future second-round picks from Miami.
In terms of future assets, the Blazers are the big winners of this proposed deal, as they acquire two unprotected first-round picks from the Heat, as well as two more first-rounders from the Clippers. Kyle Lowry, Nicolas Batum, Nikola Jovic, Kobe Brown, Amir Coffey, and Jason Preston all make their way to Portland as well.
The salaries will work for all parties involved. The question is whether or not all teams will be happy with what they net in this jaw-dropping deal.
NBA Rumors: How Will This Potential Trade Affect Bucks?
If this does go down then it would have major implications on the Milwaukee Bucks as well. The Sixers and the Heat are two of the top contenders in the East, and you could argue that both sides will be stronger after this deal.
The Sixers get their hands on Tyler Herro, who could be a great fit alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. More importantly, they get rid of a disgruntled Harden.
The Heat, on the other hand, will finally get a legitimate Big 3 in Dame, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo. Miami did not have much trouble eliminating the Bucks in the first round of the playoffs this past season, and if the Lillard experiment works, then Milwaukee will defintiely have their work cutout for them against the team from South Beach.
