After successfully retaining the services of Khris Middleton and Brook Lopez, the Milwaukee Bucks still needed to make a lot of moves to round out their roster. On Monday, they were able to add a new player for their backcourt rotation in the form of Malik Beasley.
Beasley, who played last season alongside LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, agreed to a one-year deal with the Milwaukee worth $2.7 million as the squad looks to complete its roster for the upcoming season.
Bucks Fans React To Malik Beasley Signing
Malik Beasley spent just half a season with the Lakers before the team decided that they no longer required his services. To be fair, LA had so much on their plate in free agency, and the 6-foot-4 shooting guard ended up being the odd man out.
Milwaukee fans seem to love this move by their team, especially considering how they secured Beasley’s services at a considerably affordable price. Supporters took to Twitter to share their reactions to this recent signing:
Good signing, if he can knock down his threes consistently he’ll be a steal

Naturally, a few Lakers fans got on the comments section, too. They weren’t shy about calling Beasley out for his poor showing with LA this past season, but at the same time, these fans also know what Malik brings to the table. As such, they are begrudgingly confident that he will be able to find his footing in Milwaukee:
Now watch him average 20 PPG 😭

Let’s face it, folks: the guy couldn’t throw a penny into the ocean from a rowboat with Los Angeles, but you hope the young man finds his confidence again in Milwaukee. pic.twitter.com/SNmtynaITr

Bucks Won Race For Malik Beasley Amid Interest From Multiple Teams
According to reports, Malik Beasley was a hot commodity in NBA free agency, which given his credentials, does not come as a surprise at all. NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype previously reported that the Phoenix Suns, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Toronto Raptors, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Golden State Warriors also showed interest in potentially snagging Beasley from LA. In the end, the Bucks prevailed.
As LA fans all so willingly expressed in the tweets above, Malik Beasley obviously did not have his best year in Hollywood last term. You have to note, however, that this dude is just two years removed from averaging 19.6 points per game with the Minnesota Timberwolves. That year, he knocked down 3.5 triples per contest on a highly-efficient 39.9 percent clip. This is exactly the Malik Beasley Milwaukee is hoping for this coming season.
