NBA news: Kyrie Irving almost reunited with LeBron James this summer. Almost. Well, actually, we don’t really know how close he really was to a move to the Los Angeles Lakers, if at all. Either way, the Dallas Maverick wasted no time renewing Kyrie’s contract as soon as NBA free agency opened.
Nevertheless, there are still some Cleveland Cavaliers fans out there who are still hoping for a reunion between these two superstars somewhere down the road.
NBA News: Kyrie Irving Reacts to LeBron James-Sized Shade
At this point, however, this appears to be the farthest thing from Kyrie’s mind. He’s penned a new deal with the Mavs, and he expects to honor this contract until it runs out — or at least until the next time he decides he wants to jump ship.
Irving recently caught wind of a random tweet that outlined his career since parting ways with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers back in 2017. Kyrie did not appreciate the implications of the tweet:
Pin this tweet and see what happens in the next few years.

“Pin this tweet and see what happens in the next few years,” Irving wrote in his reply.
You have to note, however, that when Kyrie left LeBron and the Cavs, they were one year removed from winning a championship. Unless you win another one, there’s really nowhere to go but down from that point on.
NBA News: Did Kyrie Irving Blame Giannis Antetokounmpo for 2021 Playoffs Injury?
Back in 2021, Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets faced off against the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs. Unfortunately, Irving went down with an injury in Game 4 during a play that heavily involved Giannis Antetokounmpo. Kyrie ended up missing the remainder of the series, and the Bucks were able to dispose of Kevin Durant and the Nets after seven games.
Two years later and it seems that Irving revealed how he feels about Giannis Antetokounmpo and his involvement in that unfortunate injury:
Now you know how we feel https://t.co/xDKXgDiXYo pic.twitter.com/cyauDLnqk9

Giannis is not a dirty player, and I don’t remember any instance wherein he purposely attempted to injure an opponent. Well, based on the above tweet, it does seem like Kyrie Irving disagrees.
