NBA news: The dust has barely settled on Ja Morant’s second gun incident — the one that got him suspended for the first 25 games of the regular season. As if that wasn’t enough, the Memphis Grizzlies superstar is now embroiled in yet another legal problem. This time around, his friend has been arrested for an incident that transpired inside Morant’s home last year.
NBA News: Ja Morant’s Friend Arrested For Assault Over Fight Involving Grizzlies Star

According to a report by Fox Sports, Morant’s close friend, Davonte Pack, was arrested and booked on Wednesday for bodily harm. He was taken into custody in the Shelby Couty Jail stemming from an altercation that transpired in July of 2022. A teenager, who was 17 at the time of the incident, filed a lawsuit against Pack and Morant alleging that both men punched him during a basketball game that was held inside the Grizzlies star’s home.
Fox Sports reports that Morant’s legal team argued in court that the lawsuit against Morant should be dismissed because he acted in self-defense after the accuser threw the ball at his face. At this point, Ja is not facing any criminal charges. Pack, however, whom Morant himself has previously referred to as his “brother,” is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
NBA News: Giannis Anateokounmpo’s Hilarious All-Star Ja Morant Blooper

On a lighter note, it wasn’t too long ago when Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo had a hilarious blooper involving Morant during the 2023 NBA All-Star Game. This was during the pre-game draft as Giannis, who was voted as the East captain, went up against the West’s LeBron James. As he was picking the reserves, Antetokounmpo mistakenly selected Morant, who was part of the starters pool. Hilarity ensued:
Giannis even had a whole speech prepared for his intro on Morant, which makes this even funnier. Also, did he call him “John Morant”?
Hopefully, these are the types of light and funny stories we hear about Ja Morant in the future. Enough of this other nonsense.
