NBA News: The Milwaukee Bucks are headed into an interesting 2023 NBA off-season. After their early exit from the 2023 NBA Playoffs, the Bucks moved on from their head coach Mike Budenholzer. In a somewhat surprising move, Milwaukee hired Adrian Griffin as the next head coach. They also recently hired assistant coach Terry Stotts. Now the Milwaukee Bucks will likely start retooling their roster before the 2023-24 NBA season in order to push for a second championship in four years. That re-tooling could include adding a former NBA MVP.
Former NBA MVP Derrick Rose Released From The New York Knicks
Derrick Rose’s time with the New York Knicks has come to an end. The Knicks are not picking up Rose’s $15.6 million team option for next season, according to multiple reports. This makes the veteran guard an unrestricted free agent, free to sign with any team over the offseason. Technically, he could even re-sign with the Knicks on a new deal.
Rose spent the past three seasons in New York with the Knicks, but he played sparingly as of late. He appeared in just 27 games during the 2022-23 season and played only 12.5 minutes per performance in those appearances. Despite the limited run, the former NBA MVP recently stated that he still feels like he’s improving as a player, even at this late stage in his career.
How Does Derrick Rose Have Ties To The Milwaukee Bucks?
Rose still has some juice left in him — when healthy — and he’s a perfect fit for the Milwaukee Bucks right now as they need an explosive scorer that can create his own shots. Additionally, Griffin and Rose were on those ferocious Bulls teams that fought for Eastern Conference supremacy a decade ago.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been named a destination in the past for the veteran point guard. A point guard rotation of Jrue Holiday, Jevon Carter, and Derrick Rose would be one of the deepest rotations in the NBA.

Adrian Griffin was a coach for that Bulls team, not a player
