NBA news: Just this summer, there were reports surrounding the Milwaukee Bucks’ former No. 2 overall pick Jabari Parker taking the necessary steps toward a return to the NBA. Unfortunately for the 28-year-old, this has not come to fruition, which has led to Parker opting to take his talents abroad.
NBA News: Jabari Parker Passes Barcelona Medical

According to a report by Mundo Deportivo, Parker is now on the brink of signing a contract with Spanish outfit Barcelona in the Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. The report indicates that the 6-foot-8 power forward has passed his medical exam for the Spanish squad, which will now allow him to finalize the details of his contract.
The last we saw Parker in the NBA was with the Boston Celtics during the 2021-22 season. He was not able to sign a deal with any squad last year, and the same has been the former Duke standout this summer.
Parker started off his career in Milwaukee as the No. 2 overall pick in 2014. He played four years with the Bucks where he averaged 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steals in 183 games played. He then signed with the Chicago Bulls as a free agent in 2018 after his Bucks contract came to an end. Parker has also had stints with the Washington Wizards, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Sacramento Kings.
Parker was part of the Bucks’ Summer League roster, but he wasn’t able to do enough to secure a season-long deal with the team.
NBA News: Jabari Parker Set to Replace Nikola Mirotic for Barcelona

Barcelona’s signing of Parker follows the departure of another former Buck and 2022 EuroLeague MVP Nikola Mirotic. The latter left Spain this summer after his contract was terminated by Barcelona. Mirotic, who played 14 games for Milwaukee during the 2018-19 season, signed with Olimpia Milano in Italy.
Needless to say, Barcelona has a knack for signing former Milwaukee Bucks players. I wonder who’s going to be next.
