Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Robert Gasser is off to a phenomenal start in the big leagues. Through two MLB starts he has covered 11 innings and surrendered just one earned run. He made franchise history as he became the first Brewers pitcher to collect wins in each of his first two appearances and he also matched Steve Woodard for the most consecutive scoreless innings (eight) to begin his career.
After Gasser’s second career start, which came against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the media spoke with him afterwards. At this time he revealed one thing that changed from game one when compared to game two.
Robert Gasser did not use his entire pitch arsenal during his MLB Debut.
Against the St. Louis Cardinals Robert Gasser’s sweeper stole the show. It was his most utilized pitch, he got a ton of swings and misses on it, and opposing batters also chased it frequently. In that game he also threw a four seam fastball, sinker, and changeup. One pitch he never got to use was the cutter.
During the Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Pirates game Robert Gasser got to use his full pitch arsenal.
During career start number two Robert Gasser had Gary Sanchez behind the dish. Gasser stated that the first two innings felt like a similar type of approach when compared to his MLB debut but then he started throwing the cutter and it was working. As a result he ended up with a balanced pitch count that included 24 sweepers, 23 four seam fastballs, 17 sinkers, 14 cutters, and four changeups.
Robert, who whose name is actually not Robeet in a stunning twist, threw zero cutters in his debut. He told me today he wasn’t going to be shaking off any calls in his debut while throwing up zeroes. Wise, imo. https://t.co/wJFzl1cup7

Which team will Robert Gasser face next?
Pending any changes Robert Gasser is in line to pitch early next week against the Miami Marlins. If that remains the case then the Marlins will be the third team below .500 that he has faced. After the Marlins game he is projected to face the Chicago Cubs in a big division match up.
