Khris Middleton is set to miss his 12th straight game for the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night against the Golden State Warriors. The three-time All-Star has been dealing with a lingering ankle injury, which has now forced him to spend yet another extended period on the sidelines.
Starting in his place has been veteran swingman Jae Crowder, who apparently, is now also in danger of sitting out Wednesday’s contest due to a knee issue.
Milwaukee Bucks Add Jae Crowder to Injury Report
Crowder returned to the lineup in mid-January following a two-month injury absence. He has played an important role for the squad of late, especially after Middleton went down with an ankle sprain. Crowder isn’t exactly stuffing the stat sheet, but his mere presence has been a key part of the Bucks’ game plan on both ends of the floor.
Crowder, however, is now in danger of missing the Warriors game due to a left knee contusion. This is the first we’ve heard of this injury, which could mean that he sustained the knock during Monday’s win against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The good news, though, is that Crowder is considered probable to play. Only a major setback is going to force him to sit out Wednesday’s marquee matchup, but this is still a situation that will be worth monitoring.
It is worth noting that Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as questionable to play on Wednesday and his final status will likely influence the Bucks’ decision on whether or not Crowder suits up against Stephen Curry and Co.
UPDATE: Per Doc Rivers, Crowder will be available on Wednesday. Giannis has also been cleared to play.
Bucks coach Doc Rivers tells reporters that Jae Crowder and MarJon Beauchamp will be available tonight vs. the Warriors as well. https://t.co/W7G1iKqb3A
