Milwaukee Bucks: AFter declaring his desire to leave the Los Angeles Clippers due to a lack of playing time, veteran forward P.J. Tucker has already been linked to a handful of teams across the NBA. He isn’t exactly a star, but he could be a valuable veteran addition for a team with title aspirations this season.
The Bucks are one team that has already been rumored to be interested in Tucker, who was an integral part of their historic 2021 title run. It comes no surprise, however, that Milwaukee is not alone in their interest in the 6-foot-5 forward.
No Clear Path for Milwaukee Bucks
It was NBA insider Marc Stein who recently linked Tucker to a potential reunion with the Bucks, noting that the team has maintained a “healthy level of admiration” for the 38-year-old.
Tucker, who joined the Clippers as part of the James Harden blockbuster trade earlier this season, has lost his spot in Tyronn Lue’s rotation, thereby forcing him to try and find minutes elsewhere. While there has been no official confirmation, it also would not be surprising if LA is willing to part ways with the one-time NBA champ.
It was also Stein, however, who noted that apart from the Bucks, one other team that also has Tucker on their radar is the Miami Heat. Tucker also suited up for the Heat during the 2021-22 season, during which he played 71 games for the squad. It goes without saying that Erik Spoelstra and the Heat are very familiar with the veteran and what he brings to the table.
A Familiar Foe
If ever, this would not be the first time the Bucks and the Heat go head-to-head for the services of a coveted player. Just this summer, Milwaukee hijacked Miami’s deal for Damian Lillard after it was made public that the Heat was Dame’s preferred landing spot.
Should Tucker suddenly become available, you can be sure that the Heat will be eager to return the favor to the Bucks in one way or another.
