New Milwaukee Bucks combo guard Patrick Beverley is one of the most entertaining personalities in the NBA (that is, when he is on your team). When news broke that he had been traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Bucks, it was not the typical NBA insiders, Adrian Wojnarowski or Shams Charania, who were the first to post the story. Instead, it was Beverley himself on his own podcast.
Since coming to Milwaukee, Beverley has inserted himself as a team leader, sometimes grabbing a clipboard during timeouts to help coach up the younger players (and Giannis Antetokounmpo) on the roster. Aside from the Bucks’ blowout loss to the Miami Heat on Tuesday night, the team’s defense has improved since he joined the roster.
In order to acquire Beverley, the Bucks had to give up backup point guard Cam Payne and a second round NBA Draft pick. However, that was not the only move they made ahead of the deadline. Robin Lopez was shipped off to the Sacramento Kings, and then released right away.
The Lopez move was made to free up a roster spot for the Bucks to fill on the buyout market. And since Beverley got a taste of what it was like to break news as a NBA insider, he has decided to keep Bucks fans informed of what his “sources” are telling him about one particular buyout candidate.

Both Beverley and Gallinari were teammates during their time on Los Angeles Clippers, who at the time was coached by current Bucks head coach Doc Rivers.
