A Reddit post from r/0dias_Chrysalis has gone viral ahead of Friday’s clash between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Cleveland Cavaliers because it brings to light the possibility of the Cavs playing the same opponent with a different coach for the third time not just in a single season but over the span of less than two weeks.

See, when the Cavs faced the Bucks on Jan. 18 in Cleveland, Adrian Griffin was still calling the shots from the sidelines for Milwaukee. The Bucks lost that game, 135-95, though they played without Giannis Antetokounmpo. That outing also turned out to be the last time the Cavs squared off against a Griffin-coached Bucks squad because in the next Milwaukee-Cleveland meeting just seven days later, Griffin had already been fired and Joe Prunty was the team’s interim head coach. The Buck defeated Cleveland at home in that contest to the tune of a 126-116 score.
If Rivers becomes available to coach the Milwaukee Bucks, it would be interesting to see how he would fare in his first appearance as a head coach since he got fired by the Los Angeles Clippers last year. Chances are, it’s still going to be Prunty handling the job, with the Bucks yet to make an official announcement about Rivers’ hiring as the new head coach.
