Giannis Antetokounmpo looked fine on Wednesday night as he led the Milwaukee Bucks to an impressive 126-116 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Fiserv Forum. The former back-to-back MVP logged his seventh triple-double of the season with 35 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists.
As it turns out, however, Antetokounmpo is still dealing with a shoulder injury, and this has now put his status for Friday’s rematch against the Cavs in jeopardy.
Milwaukee Bucks List Giannis on Injury Report
The Bucks have released their injury report for Friday’s contest, and Giannis is listed yet again. The silver lining here is that Antetokounmpo is considered probable to play as he continues to nurse a right shoulder contusion.
It is worth noting that the now eight-time All-Star has been listed as probable in the last few games with the same injury and he has been able to play through the knock. It also hasn’t looked like Giannis has been significantly bothered by the shoulder, and this will likely be the case come Friday.
Cavs Still Undermanned
The Cavs, on the other hand, will still be shorthanded for Friday’s contest. Starting point guard Darius Garland is still out with a fractured jaw, while Evan Mobley remains sidelined as he recovers from left knee surgery.
Ty Jerome and Tristan Thompson have also been ruled out.
This only means that the bulk of the workload will be left to Donovan Mitchell. As we have seen many times in the past, the 6-foot-3 combo guard is more than capable of carrying his team, and he will be looking to do this again on Friday night.
