The future of Milwaukee Bucks forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo was clouded in even more doubt after the 31-year-old suffered a career-threatening Achilles injury at the end of the season. Giannis’ older brother is now set to undergo surgery to address a torn Achilles tendon, which will require a lengthy recovery period.
The good news, however, is that Thanasis seems to be primed for a return much sooner than expected.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Thanasis Antetokounmpo Injury Update

According to Harris Starvou of SPORT24, the elder Antetokounmpo is aiming to return to the basketball court after just a six-month layoff. As we have seen in the past, players usually miss an entire season with this type of injury, so the fact that Thanasis is looking at just half a year on the sidelines is a considerable development.
“Thanasis Antetokounmpo is pushing hard to return in action in about 6 months. TA will support the Greek NT in the preolympic tournament in Piraeus and he will be a free agent this offseason,” Stavrou reported.

The reality, however, is that there is no guarantee Thanasis will be able to return in six months. His road to recovery will rely heavily on how his body responds to surgery and rehab.
Be that as it may, this is still a positive bit of news on the Antetokounmp front, as the veteran looks to secure a contract extension with the Bucks this summer.
