Patrick Beverley has always been known as a hothead and a loudmouth on and off the court. But after a pair of controversies recently, the Milwaukee Bucks star committed one promise to make things better.
Before the Bucks’ front office decided to trade for him before the deadline this year, Beverley played a total of 47 games for the Philadelphia 76ers. During that period, the pesky defensive specialist averaged 6.3 points on 43 percent shooting, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per contest.

Before the trade deadline, though, Beverley would see a change of scenery as Milwaukee sent out Cam Payne and a second-round pick for him. Right from the get-go, he provided defense to the Bucks’ backcourt, as well as leadership in the lineup.
Unfortunately, Milwaukee’s playoff run didn’t last that long as the Indiana Pacers eliminated them in the first round. Due to the absences of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, the Bucks couldn’t handle their business against the Tyrese Haliburton-led team and got eliminated in six games.
After Game 6, though, Beverley found himself throwing the ball at a fan. At the same time, the backup guard disrespected an ESPN producer after he learned she wasn’t subscribed to his podcast. As a result, online backlash to his actions have grown after Milwaukee was eliminated, causing the defensive specialist to come under public scrutiny.
Milwaukee Bucks Guard Patrick Beverley Commits One Promise After Back-To-Back Controversies

With the public calling out for his head, Beverley committed one promise after causing those back-to-back controversies recently. In a post he shared on his official X account:
“But I have to be better. And I will,” Beverley tweeted.
Beverley signed a $2 million contract with the Sixers during the last offseason. It’s not yet known whether the Bucks will sign him to a new deal or some other team will acquire him in free agency.

Whether he stays in Milwaukee or not, people will be holding on to Beverley’s promise to become better. In any case, it’s going to be a matter of months before the actual result will be seen.
