Milwaukee Bucks news: Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece are making their final preparations ahead of their upcoming trip to Paris for the upcoming Olympics later this month.
The national team got a little bit of bad news on the Giannis front recently, though, after an injury has forced the former NBA MVP to sit out their upcoming tune-up game against Puerto Rico on Tuesday.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Giannis Antetokounmpo OUT Vs. Puerto Rico

Reporter Harris Stavrou of SPORT24 broke the news on Monday, revealing that Antetokounmpo was unable to travel with the squad for their upcoming exhibition contest:
“Giannis Antetokounmpo is OUT for tomorrow’s game against Puerto Rico because of an illness. The Greek Freak didn’t travel to Thessaloniki with the team,” Stavrou reported on X, formerly Twitter.
The nature of the illness was not disclosed, but it does not sound like this is a serious concern. At this point, it does not seem like this knock will have an impact on Antetokounmpo’s availability for the Olympics.

Giannis Vs. Nikola Jokic on the Horizon?

In the same report, Stavrou also indicated that one final pre-Olympic tune-up game for Greece is currently in the works.
“Greek Federation is trying to arrange a final prep game before the 2024 Olympics, against Nikola Jokic’s Serbia in Belgrade,” Stavrou reported.
Hopefully, Antetokounmpo will be healthy for this potential matchup against reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic. These two going at it on the court is always a treat regardless of the circumstances.
Greece kick off their Olympic campaign on July 27 against Canada. The other two nations in their group are Spain and Australia.
