While many expected the Milwaukee Bucks to dominate this season, the opposite happened. But after their disappointing run this year, particularly the early playoff exit to the Indiana Pacers, two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo may have just given everyone a hint on his future with the team.
During the previous offseason, the Bucks went all-in by acquiring Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for a package of Jrue Holiday, Grayson Allen, and a collection of draft picks and swaps. This created a massive one-two punch combo of Lillard and Antetokounmpo that could have dominated the league when the regular season began.

However, the Bucks could only muster a second-seed record behind the Boston Celtics before Adrian Griffin was let go. During that time, Milwaukee had a 30-13 record in the Eastern Conference. It only got worse when Doc Rivers was hire to coach the team as he was only able to finish the regular season with 17 wins and 19 losses.
Milwaukee’s disappointing season came to an end when they exited the playoffs at the hands of Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers. Without Antetokounmpo in the lineup, the team struggled to get going against Indiana.
Milwaukee Bucks’ All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Hints At His Future With The Team

After their disappointing run, people have wondered whether Antetokounmpo will stay with the team or demand a trade somewhere else in the NBA. Somehow, he may have hinted his future with the team in an article written by Jim Owczarksi for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
“We’re not questioning and trying to figure out how it’s going to look moving forward. You know and now that you know, you just gotta work, strategize to the best of your abilities,” Antetokounmpo said. “Dame’s going to be here. Khris is going to be here. Brook (is) going to be here. Bobby (Portis is) going to be here. I hope I’m here. And then we go and try to find out what we have,” Owczarksi wrote.
As it stands, having these guys around Antetokounmpo and Lillard may be beneficial due to their experience and the benefits they bring to the table. If the Bucks’ front office is successful in getting role players that fit this core well, there’s no reason for them to fail again.

With Antetokounmpo hinting at staying, there’s a pretty good chance Milwaukee does better next season. If they do, expect the team to be more dominant that other squads have performed this year.
