Milwaukee Bucks news: It’s that time of year again. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame recently announced the nominees for the upcoming class of soon-to-be Hall of Famers. Atop the list is the entire Team USA squad that represented the country for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
For most, that squad is more fondly remembered as the “Redeem Team.”
Milwaukee Bucks Icon Michael Redd Reflects on Team USA Journey
Former Bucks guard Michael Redd was part of that iconic iteration of the national squad. He joined the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and Chris Paul, to name a few, as Team USA looked to exact some revenge on the rest of the world following the squad’s bronze-medal finish in the 2004 Olympics.
Redd was far from the biggest name on the roster for the Redeem Team, which was headlined by some of the top players not only in that era but in the history of the NBA as well.
Redd recently took to Twitter to reflect on his time with the national squad ahead of what is going to be his best shot at being inducted into the Hall:
The 2008 "Redeem Team" was nominated for the Hall of Fame.

Apart from the 1992 Dream Team which was spearheaded by the likes of Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson, there is probably no other more prominent team in the history of the sport other than the ’08 Redeem Team. As Redd described in his anecdote above, the former All-Star is just happy to have been part of history.
Redd clearly has a lot of fond memories from that incredible experience but the one thing that stands out the most, of course, is the gold medal.
