Malik Beasley has been a key piece of the puzzle for the Milwaukee Bucks this season. He earned his spot as the fifth starter to open the season and he has done excellently to keep it that way.
Monday’s performance against the Chicago Bulls was another example of Beasley’s crucial role for the squad as he helped his team secure a hard-fought 133-129 overtime victory against their Central Division foes.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Malik Beasley Sounds Off on Strong Play
Beasley spoke to the press on Tuesday morning after scoring 19 points against Chicago on 7-of-11 shooting. He went 5-of-8 from his attempts from deep, while also logging four rebounds, two assists, a steal, and zero turnovers in 40 minutes of play.
On the season, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard is knocking down 3.0 triples per game on an extremely efficient 46.4 percent clip. Beasley credits his strong play to how he’s been able to acclimatize himself to the Bucks’ run-and-gun style of play:
“I chose this team to win a championship and to get open looks and it’s been happening,” Beasley said. “Whenever the ball is moving, I get at least five or six threes a game. Hopefully, I hit them at a high rate. The ball is moving, and we’re playing defense and getting in transition, so I’m getting easy baskets. I got a dunk last night. So the more we’re not in the halfcourt, the better we are as a team.”

It’s hard to argue against Beasley’s statement here, especially after watching Milwaukee take down the Bulls in Monday’s high-octane matchup.
Beasley and the Bucks will now want to keep it going on Wednesday in a highly-anticipated rematch against the Indiana Pacers at the Fiserv Forum.
