Malik Beasley has been shooting the lights out for the Milwaukee Bucks this season. On the season, he’s knocking down a career-best 47.8 percent of his 6.2 attempts from distance, making him one of the most dangerous marksmen in the NBA today.
As a matter of fact, the 27-year-old is currently leading the league in efficiency from beyond the arc — a fact that has led to Beasley making a significant demand from the NBA.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Malik Beasley Calls Out League
In a recent interview with NBA insider Chris Haynes of TNT and Bleacher Report, Beasley got brutally honest when asked about his desire to take part in the upcoming All-Star 3-Point Contest. According to the 6-foot-4 shooting guard, he feels he’s done enough in the past few seasons to get the call:
“Man, it’s tough for me,” Beasley said. “Obviously, I would love to and I’m excited. But I don’t know if you noticed but the last three years, I’m Top 2, Top 3 in field goals made from three, overall in the last three years. I’m shooting the ball pretty well.”
For some reason, however, Beasley hasn’t gotten the invite. This led to the Bucks sharpshooter taking a veiled shot at the league as he looks to get a spot in the highly-anticipated shooting competition:
“What’s tough for me is the political stuff,” he continued. “Hopefully this year I get in. If I don’t, man, I’mma support my guys, but I think I could win. Me and Dame (Lillard) have already been talking smack, because he won last year, so he thinks he got it easy. I’m like, ‘Bruh, if I come in there, it’s a new sheriff in town.’”

Hopefully, Beasley gets a much-deserved call-up to the 3-Point Contest this year. As he said, he should give defending champ Dame Lillard a run for his money.
