New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson put on a show on Monday as they took down the Milwaukee Bucks, 129-122. The Knicks were coming off a lopsided loss against the Bucks on Saturday, 130-111, which makes the fact that they were able to switch the flip on Christmas Day even more impressive.
As a matter of fact, Brunson left even his Knicks teammates in awe.
Josh Hart Speaks Out on Jalen Brunson After Milwaukee Bucks Win
Speaking to reporters after the game, Knicks forward Josh Hart shared his honest thoughts on Brunson’s evolution into a bona fide NBA superstar. Hart and Brunson go way back, with the pair both playing their college ball for Villanova.
According to Hart, he always knew that Brunson was special. However, even he had his doubts about his buddy:
“I always knew he put the work in to be successful. But, even me, I didn’t know how it would translate to the NBA style,” Hart said, via Stefan Bondy of the New York Post. “But s–t, when did I know? Probably like three years ago when he started doing it.”
Brunson finished with a game-high 38 points on 15-of-28 shooting, to go along with four rebounds, six assists, a steal, and zero turnovers in their impressive Christmas Day victory against the Bucks.
Hart wasn’t bad himself, chipping in 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 31 minutes off the bench.
Josh Hart Claps Back at Brunson’s Haters
Brunson shut some of his critics up after his majestic performance against the Bucks. Las Vegas Aces head coach Becky Hammon, in particular, recently stated that the Knicks don’t have a “1A dude” and that this is what’s ultimately going to lead to their downfall.
Well, Brunson proved on Monday that he is that guy for New York. Hart responded to Hammon’s call-out after their victory against the Bucks:
“People are gonna say stupid s**t all they want,” Hart said. “At the end of the day, the beauty about him, he doesn’t care about what other people say. He cares about winning and he cares about success.”
Josh Hart was asked about Becky Hammon's comments on Jalen Brunson:
