Even with the All-Star duo of Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the way, there’s no doubt Khris Middleton remains one of the Milwaukee Bucks’ most important players. But after suffering an injury recently, fans are wondering when the forward will be back on the court.
During the Bucks’ game against the Phoenix Suns, a contest the former ultimately lost, Middleton attempted a jumper with around six minutes left in the first quarter. The thing is, Kevin Durant was right there on MIddleton’s landing spot, injuring his ankle in the process.
Fortunately, the injury wasn’t that severe to Middleton’s ankle and it won’t require the All-Star forward to lose a lot of time. Even if that’s the case, the Bucks star was still seen in a walking boot and crutches.
Right before he left the game against Phoenix, Middleton notched six points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal. The last instance he missed a game was in November last year due to Achilles soreness.
Milwaukee Bucks GM Jon Horst Reveals Khris Middleton’s Status After Suffering an Ankle Injury
Speaking before the media, Milwaukee Bucks general manager answered whether there’s a timeline for Middleton’s return. In an article written by Eric Nehm for The Athletic:
“No. As you know, those ankle things, they’re kind of day to day; we’re kind of going through the evaluation process. As soon as I’m done with you guys, I’ll meet with the medical staff and get the update for today. I don’t know yet. We’re trying to figure it out. Obviously, he stepped on a foot and rolled it pretty good, so we’re still just trying to figure it out,” Horst said.
On the bright side, since Middleton’s injury isn’t that serious, there’s a good chance the forward can help the Bucks finish the regular season strong. Add Patrick Beverley to the mix and Milwaukee has a strong roster to field in the East.
