Milwaukee Bucks point guard Jrue Holiday has already revealed that he plans to retire at the end of his current contract. Indeed, he said it is something that he feels very strongly about, though he is not sure exactly what he will want to spend most of his time doing in retirement (though he does want to continue his charitable work).
After the Bucks disappointing loss to the Miami Heat in this year’s NBA Playoffs, there have been rumors and trade scenarios thrown around that have Milwaukee moving on from one of their Big Three. In some scenarios, it is Khris Middleton; in others, it is Holiday. But does Holiday plan on being traded, or even playing for another team in his NBA career? According to him, the answer is “No.”
Jrue Holiday Wants to Retire with the Milwaukee Bucks

In a recent interview, Holiday was asked if it is his intention to retire with the Bucks. He answered:
“Yeah, that’s the plan. I love it here. I love my teammates. I love the organization. I know people from the outside probably think Milwaukee is a boring city, but I love it, man. My family loves it, and Milwaukee’s treated me well. So, I don’t really plan on going anywhere.”
If Holiday picks up his player option for the 2024-25 season, he will have spent five seasons in Milwaukee by the time the contract expires. This will be his second-longest stint with any of the teams for whom he played. Holiday spent the first four seasons of his career with the Philadelphia 76ers and then seven years with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Holiday will be 35 when the 2024-25 season comes to an end. If he changes his mind about retirement, could the Bucks bring him back on a short extension? Should they?
Only time will tell.
