Milwaukee Bucks swingman Jae Crowder recently rejoined his team after undergoing surgery on November 14. He won’t be back on the court anytime soon, but the 33-year-old is definitely making his presence felt in any way he can.
Jae Crowder Looking to Make an Impact for Milwaukee Bucks
Crowder won’t be able to help his team on the basketball court, but he has every intention of doing whatever he can off of it. The 11-year forward is one of the squad’s most important veterans and now that he’s rejoined his team, Crowder is looking to reestablish himself as the squad’s vocal leader:
“Use my voice,” he said. “I think Coach Griff had a message for me when I was going through surgery, ‘You didn’t have surgery on your vocal chords.’ That’s what he said. Just telling me that the group needs my voice. I missed the Washington-Boston trip, but every trip after that, I’m going to be on and I feel like my voice is going to be helpful for our group still, especially those young guys. And I’ve been doing a good job of just trying to help them, tell them what I see and listen to those guys and try to help those guys as much as possible. So I’m definitely using my voice right now.”
Crowder will need to play a mentorship role for Milwaukee’s young studs, who are now expected to fill the void he and Pat Connaughton (ankle sprain) recently left. Andre Jackson Jr. and MarJon Beauchamp are two very talented and very hungry players, but there’s no denying that their games need refining.
This is definitely an area where Crowder can excel in as he recovers from a significant injury.
