Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is still listed on the injury report for their nationally televised game against the Golden State Warriors. With his classification as questionable, it is still up in the air if the former MVP will perform under the bright lights.
Giannis’ Injury
Giannis Antetokounmpo is suffering from tendonitis, which is inflammation of a tendon. Unfortunately for him, this tendon in question is his Achilles, a vital part of any athlete’s body as it supports all lower body movement. After a dominant 46-point 16-rebound win against the Chicago Bulls, he was listed on the injury report before their outing against the Los Angeles Clippers three days later.
Unsure of how he could fair on his Achilles he attempted to attend the warmup, to no success. It was clear he was in major pain as he tested his movement.

Giannis was unable to perform for the team for only the third time this season. Thankfully for the Milwaukee Bucks, they were able to pull together the shorthanded victory thanks to a 41-point outing from Damian Lillard. This continued their win streak and left many basketball fans surprised, as the Los Angeles Clippers are title contenders themselves.
Giannis Questionable Vs Golden State Warriors
Just two days after their win against the Clippers, the Milwaukee Bucks find themselves traveling to a different California team to challenge the Golden State Warriors. Hours before tipoff Giannis can be found testing his Achilles once more, seemingly to much more success.

Antetokounmpo is the type of player who will try to play through injury, and he will play hard regardless of pain. Though sitting at second in the Eastern Conference standings, there does not seem to be much of a reason for him to risk a more major injury. Given that they are seven games behind the one-seed Boston Celtics, it is unlikely they will catch them with only 20 games left in the regular season.
Can The Bucks Defeat The Warriors Without Giannis?
Despite the dynasty the Golden State Warriors built, they are not much of a feared team at this point in time. Although they are playing some of their best basketball of the season, winning seven of their last 10 games. With a player like future hall-of-famer Stephen Curry on the court, the Warriors will always have a chance to win.
The Warriors will be fighting tooth and nail to bring together a win on their home court. With Giannis potentially not on the court it will only invigorate those emotions. They sit just one loss behind the Los Angeles Lakers for the final play-in spot, they look to finish the season strong to secure a chance at the playoffs.
If Giannis Antetokounmpo indeed does not play expect the Milwaukee Bucks to channel some of the same energy they found against the Clippers. You will likely find Damian Lillard putting up a lot of shots with Bobby Portis and Patrick Beverly keeping high intensity throughout the match. If they execute correctly, there is no reason they can not defeat the Golden State Warriors.
