At this point, it no longer comes as a surprise whenever Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has some sort of historic achievement. This simply speaks of the former back-to-back MVP’s greatness and how he has now firmly established himself as an all-time great long before he’s even thinking about retirement.
Well, Giannis was up to his usual antics again on Sunday as he surpassed the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most career rebounds in Bucks franchise history.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is a Living Milwaukee Bucks Legend

This wasn’t just any record for Antetokounmpo, though, as becoming the all-time rebound leader for the Bucks allowed Giannis to hold the No. 1 spot in the franchise record books for no less than four different stats.
Right now, Antetokounmpo is the Bucks’ all-time leader in points (17,065), rebounds (7,165), assists (3,503), and blocks (936).
Only five other players in the history of the NBA hold at least four all-time records for a single franchise (h/t JR Radcliffe of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel). They are LeBron James for the Cleveland Cavaliers (points, rebounds, assists, and steals), Michael Jordan for the Chicago Bulls (points, rebounds, assists, and steals), Hakeem Olajuwon for the Houston Rockets (points, rebounds, steals, and blocks), and Patrick Ewing for the New York Knicks (points, rebounds, steals, and blocks).
Quite an elite company for Giannis, right?

Kevin Garnett Reigns Supreme

In case you were paying attention, you may have noticed that there were only four names mentioned in the above list along with Antetokounmpo. That’s because the legend omitted on purpose is Kevin Garnett, who stands alone as the only player in NBA history to hold five all-time records for one franchise.
After a memorable 14-year career with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Garnett holds the franchise record for points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.
For what it’s worth, Giannis still has a chance to match or even surpass Garnett’s incredible record. It’s going to be a tall task, though, with Antetokounmpo needing 778 more triples (and counting) to catch Khris Middleton’s three-point record (1,281) and/or 191 more steals to surpass Quinn Bucker’s record for all-time steals.
