Giannis Antetokounmpo had one of those nights for the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. The former back-to-back MVP reminded everyone out there that he remains one of the most dominant players in the NBA today as he dropped 54 points all over the Pacers.
It was a career doubt for Antetokounmpo, no doubt, but it was all put to waste by the fact that Milwaukee still lost out, 126-124, to the Indiana Pacers.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Reacts to Milwaukee Bucks’ Tough Loss

Giannis went 19-of-25 from the field in an effort that saw him fall just short of his career-high 55 points. The seven-time All-Star also logged 12 rebounds, and three assists, while also sinking 16 of his 18 attempts from the charity stripe.
Antetokounmpo did commit a whopping eight turnovers, though, with a couple of them coming in the final minute of this extremely tight game.

The Bucks talisman racked up some mind-blowing numbers yet again, but in the end, it was all for nothing. This was Giannis’ exact message after the game:
“54. 45. 5. It doesn’t matter. A lot of good things we can learn from today to get better,” he wrote in his tweet.

To be fair, it’s not as if Giannis and the Bucks took absolutely nothing out of this heartbreaking loss. As he said, it was another learning experience for Milwaukee as they continue to take the necessary steps toward their ultimate objective of bringing home another championship.

He was pretty bad in the first 5 minutes, but he was awful in the last 5.
He missed an and-one FT, a shot, got blocked by the SG, gave up 2 OREBS (he’s the real reason the Bucks are dead last in the league at giving those up), gave up a lay up, had a foul, and the pair of TOs mentioned in the article. NINE negative plays. He had one DREB and one AST in that timeframe.
He’s become all ego and was playing hero ball. He should remember how to pass and that he once used to trust his teammates when he’s double and triple teamed.
