Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo took the basketball world by storm on Wednesday night. This is after the former back-to-back MVP dropped a mind-numbing 64 points against the Indiana Pacers in Milwaukee’s 140-126 victory over their Central Division foes.
Needless to say, it was a memorable evening for the Greek Freak.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Bobby Portis Sounds Off on Giannis’ Career Night
Bobby Portis was unable to finish Wednesday’s win on the court. The fiery veteran was ejected from the game after being assessed with his second technical foul early in the fourth quarter. Portis was forced to take an early shower after the game officials tossed him for a bit of an altercation with Pacers forward Obi Toppin.
Despite not being on the bench to see Giannis go off, Portis still expressed his delight after witnessing his teammate’s career night:
“It was fun, man,” Portis said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Obviously to see your brothers win. We all work so hard, we all sacrifice, we all are together on a daily basis and we see each other’s ups and downs, so it’s cool to see your teammates win.
“Obviously he was getting to the rim at will, scoring the basketball and getting to the line and just being himself. Happy to be part of it, happy to experience and congrats to him for sure. That’s a lot of buckets.”
That was indeed a lot of buckets, and Portis is just glad that he could cheer Giannis on for them. Well, not all of them. Either way, though, it is clear that Bobby is one supportive teammate.
