The Green Bay Packers begin their organized team activities (OTAs) on Tuesday, giving reporters access to one workout per week for the next three weeks. On June 11-13, media will cover the mandatory minicamp which concludes the offseason program.
Staying healthy is the number one priority for any team at this point in the off-season, however, the Packers have already seen on wide receiver go down on day one.
The Green Bay Packers Lose Wide Receiver On Day One Of OTAs

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky:
The QB-to-WR move for Alex McGough has hit a snag. He dropped out of practice with an apparent leg injury.

McGough converted from quarterback to wide receiver this off-season.
What Could Alex McGough Be For The Packers?

After leading the Birmingham Stallions to back-to-back titles in the USFL and XFL before merging with the UFL, the former USFL MVP joined the Packers in July 2023. Last season, he was the No. 3 quarterback behind starter Jordan Love and main backup Sean Clifford on the Packers’ practice squad.
While Love and Clifford took most of the quarterback reps in 2023, McGough won out over Danny Etling for the third QB spot.
The coaches liked what they saw from McGough enough to experiment with him as a pass catcher instead of a pass thrower. His involvement in a practice collision with two-time All-Pro cornerback Jaire Alexander resulted in Alexander missing time with a back injury.
Hopefully this injury isn’t one that costs him substantial time on the field. Converting from QB to WR isn’t easy. It’s even more difficult when you are unable to practice.
