The Milwaukee Bucks were able to improve to 17-7 on the season, but they played a majority of the fourth quarter without power forward Bobby Portis as he was ejected early in the fourth quarter after receiving his second technical foul. Bobby Portis was assessed his first technical foul when power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was sent to the floor early in the fourth quarter as he began to shove some Pacers after the foul.
With 9:13 remaining in the fourth quarter, Pacers forward Obi Toppin was assessed with a loose ball foul but Bobby Portis continued to have words for Toppin. The referee gave a double technical foul to both Bobby Portis and Obi Toppin, ending Portis’ night early. He had a productive night as in 23 minutes, he finished with 19 points, two rebounds and two assists while shooting 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Portis is known for defending his teammates and being an irritant while on the court. It did not change the fact that the Bucks were able to glide to a victory behind Giannis Antetokounmpo’s incredible scoring night.
Did Bobby Portis deserve to be ejected from the game?
Bobby Portis knew he was playing with one technical foul and continued to have words with Obi Toppin. Whether it was Toppin who was initiating the conversation or not, Portis must have known it was going to get him ejected. Luckily, it did not matter in the grand scheme of things as the Milwaukee Bucks picked up a 140-126 home victory.
The referees had to diffuse the situation between Toppin and Portis any way possible. They knew Bobby Portis already had one technical and the discussion did not stop between the two players for multiple possessions. That is a fair ejection all things considered but Portis is definitely going to be a favorite in the locker room after the game for sticking up for his teammates.
Who do the Milwaukee Bucks play next?
The Milwaukee Bucks actually have a couple of days off until their next game as they do not have a game until Saturday evening at home against the brutal Detroit Pistons. This will be the second of four games the teams play against one another as Milwaukee edged out a 120-118 home win back on Nov. 8.
