Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo nearly added another poster to his growing collection on Monday night against the Chicago Bulls. Veteran big man Andre Drummond almost found himself on the wrong end of what would have been a show-stealing poster slam by the two-time MVP.
Fortunately for Drummond, Giannis just didn’t have enough oomph to throw the ball down.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Goes Full Savage on Andre Drummond
Early in the second quarter of Monday’s contest between the Bucks and the Chicago Bulls, Giannis found himself with a full head of steam toward the basket. Standing in his way from a sure deuce was Drummond, who in his defense, did all he could prevent Antetokounmpo from slamming it home.
Drummond’s decision nearly cost him dearly:

Drummond, who had to take a moment to gather himself after hitting the deck, was whistled for the foul, which sent Giannis to the line for a couple of free throws. The Bulls big man knows that this could have ended much worse for him, and the smile on his face says it all.
NBA Twitter Reacts
Even though Giannis was unable to finish the play, the nature of the botched dunk still had NBA Twitter buzzing hard:

Oh my gosh.
If Giannis Antetokounmpo would have thrown that one down on Andre Drummond…

The dunk didn’t even count and we got all these reactions on social media. Just imagine how the basketball world would have blown up if Giannis threw that down.
I guess you could say that it’s Drummond’s lucky day.
