Though they’re both still listed as doubtful for Game 6 against the Indiana Pacers, the Milwaukee Bucks have reported that both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard are working towards making an appearance in Thursday’s matchup.
Milwaukee Bucks Stars Listed as Doubtful for Game 6
When the Bucks submitted their first injury report for Thursday’s game, both Lillard (left soleus strain) and Antetokounmpo (right Achilles tendinitis) were listed as doubtful.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that they “are both working to try and make a return.”
The two also didn’t play in Game 5, but the Bucks were able to come out on top without their top 2 scorers, forcing a game 6 in Indianapolis. Antetokounmpo hasn’t played in a single playoffs game due to a calf strain that he had suffered in one of the team’s final regular-season games.
Lillard on the other hand, reaggravated an Achilles injury that he’s been dealing with for a little bit in Game 3 and has missed the last two games. Milwaukee hasn’t given any sort of timeline in regard to either injury, but head coach Doc Rivers said that he thinks “they’re very, very, very close.”
Other Bucks Players Step Up
Without Giannis and Dame, the Bucks have had to call on other players to take control on the court and help continue to make Milwaukee a fighting force. Khris Middleton is averaging 26.8 points and a little under 10 rebounds in each game he’s played in this postseason; His best coming in Game 4 where he racked up 42 points in an overtime loss.
It’s likely that we’ll see Middleton suit up along with Malik Beasley to lead the offensive charge on Thursday to force a win-or-bust home game against the Pacers. Hopefully they’ll have at least one of their stars back in the lineup, but as of right now, it’s a big question mark.
