The Milwaukee Bucks saw their six-game winning streak come to an abrupt end on Wednesday night at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. They came crashing back down to earth too as Stephen Curry and Co. dominated them en route to a 120-95 blowout win at the Chase Center.
Bucks head coach Doc Rivers has now spoken out about his team’s deflating loss, and as usual, the tenured shot-caller got brutally honest in his assessment of his team’s performance.
Milwaukee Bucks Coach Doc Rivers Reacts to Blowout Loss Vs. Warriors
Rivers has been around long enough to know what to expect from the opposition. According to the former NBA champion coach, he had a good idea of what type of Warriors side they were going to face on Wednesday — especially considering how the Dubs just got embarrassed by the Boston Celtics in their last game:
“You knew coming into tonight, this team is a championship team, right? And they got humiliated against the Celtics,” Rivers said of the Warriors, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “They’re at home now. You knew they were going to be great. That’s why I was looking forward to this game. Not to see how they were going to respond, but to see how we were going to respond.
“And we didn’t respond well tonight. And that’s OK. We’ll be fine.”
Golden State was in desperate need of a statement win after their shocking 140-88 drubbing at the hands of Jayson Tatum and Co. Well, they got just that on Wednesday night after they took out their frustration on the Bucks.
As expected, however, Rivers isn’t panicking. He called out his team for their lackluster effort but quickly followed it up by saying that he hadn’t lost one bit of confidence in them.
Milwaukee is now 1-1 in their current four-game road trip, with matchups against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Sacramento Kings coming up.
