The Milwaukee Bucks aren’t the Milwaukee Bucks we’re used to seeing. After getting slammed in their last four of six games, something is just not right. The team had been on a six-game winning streak in which people celebrated, but it quickly came to a halt as they lost to the Sacramento Kings 129-94 on Tuesday.
Head Coach Doc Rivers has expressed his concern and is aware of the team’s struggles and their ability to defend fast-paced teams.
Milwaukee Bucks’ Doc Rivers Concerned About Recent Games
The veteran coach has been known to have an overall good track record, and he had helped the Bucks get in the right direction, winning six straight after the All Star break. However, it seems like that success was very short-lived, and Milwaukee has suffered, a four-game losing streak is not something fans are used to seeing from the 2021 NBA champions. Two of those teams, the Kings and the Golden State Warriors, are two teams that like to play fast, and shoot long-range.
Rivers was asked if he was concerned about the team’s inability to contain the Kings on Tuesday, and rightfully so, he’s concerned.
“I think that’s what we’re going to have to improve. Teams that play with pace and move the ball, we have struggled against all year. You know, the Indiana Pacers being that as an example. And so we have to figure out the right formula to do that. We will, but we don’t have it right now.”
Rivers used the Pacers as a good example, a team the Bucks have seen to go head-to-head with a couple of times this season, and have struggled to keep a good stride against them. The Bucks only won once in five games against Indiana this season, and what’s even more embarrassing is that the Pacers were able to score at least 120 points in each of those games. But, Rivers says he’s not going to overthink it, that they just have to learn to adjust and move on.
“I’m not going to overplay it. It’s one game, but we had two of them on this trip,” Rivers said. “And (we) blew one. This trip could have easily been 2-2, but it’s not. It is what it is. And we have to deal with that.”
