Things have gotten from bad to worse for the Chicago Bulls in the past couple of hours as they gear up for their Central Division rivalry matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Their latest bit of bad news comes in the form of six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan being ruled out for Thursday’s contest.
DeMar DeRozan OUT Vs. Milwaukee Bucks
DeRozan headed into Thursday’s contest with a questionable tag due to a left ankle sprain. The 34-year-old suffered the injury during Tuesday’s lopsided loss to the Boston Celtics. DeRozan exited the game and was later ruled out for the remainder of the contest.
There was a bit of hope that the 6-foot-6 wing was going to be able to suit up for the Bucks. It appears that DeRozan and the Bulls really tried to do everything they could to make him available for the high-profile matchup. In the end, however, they were left with no other choice but to rule him out just 30 minutes before tipoff.
More Injury Woes for Bulls
In other injury news, Zach LaVine has already been ruled out for Thursday’s matchup. The two-time All-Star was logged as a no-go after he failed to recover from a sore right foot which also forced him to exit Tuesday’s blowout loss to the Celtics.
Alex Caruso, however, is going to suit up against Milwaukee. The 29-year-old was initially listed as questionable due to a left toe strain, but he will now be tasked to help fill the void LaVine and DeRozan have left.
