In case you missed it, new Milwaukee Bucks recruit Damian Lillard is dealing with a lot of drama in his personal life right now. The seven-time All-Star filed for divorce against his estranged wife, Kay’La Lillard, who has now responded by demanding full custody of their three children.
At this point, you could say that the divorce proceedings are getting ugly.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard Has Prenup
According to reports, Lillard is now estimated to have a net worth of $100 million. The former Portland Trail Blazers superstar amassed that hard-earned fortune after firmly establishing himself as one of the top point guards of his generation.
At this point, however, that fortune could be in danger amid the potential financial ramifications of his divorce proceedings. The good news for Lillard, is that he covered his bases. According to a report by Whitney Vasquez of Radar, Dame actually signed a prenup agreement just five days before his wedding.
The documents indicate that Dame and Kay’La must share the financial responsibilities of their three children:
“Each of the parties should be required to pay an appropriate share, as determined by the Premarital Agreement, of all uninsured and uncovered medical, psychological, psychiatric, counseling, hospital, prescription, optical, dental, and orthodontic expenses of the children of the parties for so long as a support obligation exists for the benefit of the children,” the filing states.
Moreover, the documents also clearly state that “the parties have an interest in real and personal property, which should be justly and properly divided between them by the court in accordance with the terms of the Premarital Agreement.”
It’s not as if Lillard saw this coming, but he just made sure to prepare for any and all circumstances. Right now, I’m pretty sure he’s glad he got that prenup.
