The Green Bay Packers are getting ready to show the NFL that they are a team to look out for during the 2024 NFL Season. Jordan Love’s first year under center resulted in the team being just three points shy of reaching the NFC Championship game.
This year the Packers hope to take the next step and possibly reach the Super Bowl. However, one off-season retirement caught a few fans off guard.
The Green Bay Packers Announce Sudden Retirement Within The Team

Our very own Robin Adams did a great job reporting the news for our site earlier today:
In addition to these players, the Packers also signed numerous undrafted free agents to their 90-man roster. As is the case every season, these moves were made in order to give the Packers assurance that the best players possible would be available for them when they trim their roster to 53 before the season begins.
However, it sounds like one undrafted free agent is already out of the running as he decided to retire from the game.
A little while ago, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Trente Jones, an offensive tackle that went undrafted out of Michigan, has been placed on the reserve/retired list by the Packers.
The reason for Jones’ decision has yet to be released. Just a few days ago, it was reported that Jones was a prospect “to keep an eye on” during rookie mini camp.
Packers Fans Reacted To The Sudden Retirement On Social Media

Mentals are uber important. I had reached out to @packers Behavioral Health Coordinator Chris Carr about doing a #removethestimga article for awareness month but top brass shot it down. Hope Trente is able to heal and wish him the best.

He had some medical issues. It’s ok. I’m assuming he’s getting the treatment he needs. 🙏🙏

People need to do what makes them happy. Good luck Trente! 💙

The path to the 53 for Donovan Jennings just got even more clear.
