Milwaukee Brewers first baseman and designated hitter Rhys Hoskins has provided a big boost to the Brew Crew throughout his first 38 games with the organization. Hoskins not only has been contributing offensively but he plays with an edge and competitive nature that is contagious. Unfortunately he was removed during the second inning of a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates after suffering a lower body injury.
Rhys Hoskins has been playing well with the Milwaukee Brewers after missing all of the 2023 season due to ACL surgery.
After suffering a Spring Training ACL tear with the Philadelphia Phillies Rhys Hoskins entered free agency last off-season and signed with the Brewers. He was slowed down a bit in March of 2024 with the Brewers but passed all tests and benchmarks in order to be ready to play the field by Opening Day. His early season results with Milwaukee have been a .814 OPS with nine home runs and 27 RBI.
Against the Pittsburgh Pirates Rhys Hoskins was removed from the game with a lower body injury (watch).
After hitting a single, rounding first base, and putting on the brakes Rhys Hoskins appeared in discomfort at first base. He eventually left with the Athletic Trainer and did not return. A hamstring injury was later announced as the reason for him leaving the game.

Post-game update on Rhys Hoskins’ hamstring.
After the Brewers 8-6 loss to the Pirates the media met with Rhys Hoskins. Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel posted the following interview with him in which Hoskins indicated that he will get a MRI in the morning and otherwise didn’t have an idea as to the severity of this soft tissue injury. He did indicate that this injury is on the opposite leg that he had ACL surgery on last year.
