So far, there has been one legitimate Dame Time moment for Damian Lillard since he joined the Milwaukee Bucks. This was back in mid-January when the eight-time All-Star hit an amazing 32-foot game-winner in overtime against the Sacramento Kings.
As usual, Lillard looked completely unfazed after hitting that mind-blowing shot as he busted out the famed Dame Time celebration for the first time in a Bucks uniform.

Lillard has firmly established himself as one of the most clutch players in the history of the game. He’s also been known to have an ice-cold expression during these heroic moments. His game-winner against the Kings was no different as Dame looked completely unfazed after hitting one of the most memorable shots of his decorated career.
As it turns out, there is a reason behind all this. Speaking on a recent episode of teammate Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s podcast, Lillard revealed why he doesn’t smile during his Dame Time moments:

It’s safe to say that Lillard learned his lesson from that brutal loss.
That game was played nearly two decades ago, but it is clear that the heartbreak remains fresh in Lillard’ memory. The way that he relived the moment is a clear testament to this fact.
Now you know why Dame rarely shows emotions during games.
