NBA fans have an extremely short memory. It has just been a few days since Damian Lillard etched his name in Milwaukee Bucks franchise history with an epic 32-foot game-winner against the Sacramento Kings. Naturally, Dame got all sorts of praise for his heroic effort from that victory.
Unfortunately for the seven-time All-Star, the tides quickly turned after Milwaukee suffered a 135-95 blowout loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard Clowned on Twitter
Giannis Antetokounmpo was unable to suit up in this one due to a right shoulder injury. It doesn’t sound serious, but the fact that he was a late scratch could be a cause for concern.
What’s undeniably serious is how the Bucks just lost by 40 points to a shorthanded Cavs side. With Giannis out, Lillard had to be the main man for Milwaukee in this one. He responded by scoring 17 points on 7-of-20 shooting, to go along with two rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 25 minutes of action.
The fans did not hesitate to harshly criticize the seven-time All-Star on the mean streets of Twitter:
Dame led team lost by 40 to the injured Cavs😹😹😹

Has anyone thought about trading Lillard? …. That guy doesn't want to play in Milwaukee? His mind is in Portland… With his kids… For Lillard you can get 2 very good players + a 1st round pick.

#Cavs Isaac Okoro has had Damian Lillard in a torture chamber tonight. Lillard scored 10 points on 4 of 14 shooting in the first half. He spent extra time talking to the officials about a number of no-calls before walking off the floor and going to the locker room at the break.

As I said, basketball fans have a very short memory.
I guess the good thing about this is that Lillard and Co. will be back in action on Saturday against the Detroit Pistons. That should be an easy win for them over the worst team in the NBA.
A loss would be unimaginable.
