Damian Lillard has been named an All-Star seven times in what has been a decorated career. It now appears that he’s headed for his eighth call-up and his first as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks.
The first round of fan votes for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game has been tallied, and Lillard has ranked highly among Eastern Conference guards.
Milwaukee Bucks Star Damian Lillard Ranked No. 2 Among East Guards
After the first-round of voting, Lillard has amassed 955,751 votes, which ranks second overall among Eastern Conference guards. The only other East guard who has more votes than Dame is, ironically, Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers, who just torched Lillard and the Bucks twice in the span of three days.
LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo lead their respective conferences in the first fan returns of #NBAAllStar Voting presented by AT&T.
Fans account for 50% of the vote to decide All-Star starters. NBA players and a media panel account for 25% each.

Given how highly he’s ranked in the first batch of votes, Dame could be in line to become an All-Star starter for the first time in his career.
Giannis leads the Pack
Lillard isn’t the only Buck who’s been voted in by the fans. Naturally, Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the list, too. In fact, the former back-to-back MVP emerged as the top vote-getter for both conferences, beating out Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James for the top spot.
Antetokounmpo looks like he will be named team captain again this year and if this happens, don’t be surprised if he selects Lillard as his first pick — be it as a starter or as a reserve.
