Monday’s brutal loss to the New York Knicks serves as proof that the Milwaukee Bucks are far from a perfect team. The Bucks have defeated the Knicks three times already this season, including a 130-111 blowout win on Saturday night.
However, when the lights were the brightest, it was New York that scored an all-important victory on arguably the biggest regular-season day on the NBA’s calendar.
Milwaukee Bucks Looking for Some Reinforcement
This is why it’s not at all surprising that the Bucks appear to be in the market for some reinforcement. One player that has been rumored to be on their radar is Los Angeles Clippers veteran PJ Tucker, who incidentally, was a key cog for Milwaukee during their 2021 title run.
According to a recent report by NBA inside Marc Stein, the Bucks are indeed interest. Stein noted that Milwaukee has a “healthy level of admiration” for Tucker, who recently joined the Clippers as part of the blockbuster James Harden trade.
Tucker won’t be Milwaukee’s savior this season, and his possible arrival won’t guarantee a championship. However, given what he brings to the table, Tucker could be an important veteran addition to the Bucks as they look to go all the way this season.
PJ Tucker Wants Out of LA
The good news for the Bucks is that Tucker has made it clear that he wants to leave LA. The 38-year-old has lost his spot in the rotation and it doesn’t seem like he’s going to get out of coach Tyronn Lue’s doghouse anytime soon.
“I know myself, my worth. I know what I bring. I know what I’ve brought. I know what I can continue to bring,” Tucker told Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints in a recent interview. “And with that, I want to be able to go to a good team that I can be able to help that. I think it’s kind of prioritized together at the same time and playing a role. And when you know you can play that role and have played that role on championship level teams, not just winning championships, but teams that have a chance to win a championship over the last seven years, eight years. So, yeah.”
The not-so-good news for Milwaukee, however, is that should Tucker suddenly become available, there’s likely going to be some significant competition for his services. It would be unlikely that the Bucks get a clear path toward a potential reunion with the 6-foot-5 forward.
