Milwaukee Bucks rookie Chris Livingston scored just six points during Monday’s brutal blowout loss to the Utah Jazz. However, given how the 6-foot-6 small forward hasn’t had enough opportunities this season, Monday’s outing was arguably the best performance in his fledgling career.
The Bucks still ended up losing on their own home floor, 132-116, but it was somewhat of an eye-opening performance from the 20-year-old rookie.
Milwaukee Bucks Rookie Chris Livingston Reacts to Big Game Vs. Jazz
Livingston, who entered Monday’s game averaging just 1.7 points and 1.0 rebounds in 4.4 minutes per contest (over nine appearances this season), had some extra run on Monday night with Damian Lillard and Cameron Payne both out injured.
The 20-year-old took advantage of his 15 minutes against the Jazz, finishing with six points on 2-of-5 shooting, two rebounds, and a steal.
“To be honest, I wasn’t even worried about the score,” Livingston said of his performance. “I was just trying possession by possession. Just play as hard as possible on each possession. And when you bring that much energy to the game, it starts to swing your way. That’s just what I was trying to do. That’s the mentality I had when I was out there.”
When asked how he thought he was able to impact the game, Livingston had this to say:
“Just the energy I brought on the defensive side of the ball,” he responded. “Just being able to hound guys, staying defensive, defensive assignment (is) sound, and just doing what I need to do. Bringing energy, flying around, and just helping out my teammates.”
Khris Middleton: "He came in and gave us a huge spark."

It was far from a mind-blowing performance from the rookie, and he obviously didn’t do enough to help his team avoid a blowout loss. However, if anything, Chris Livingston was able to show everyone that he is more than capable of contributing to the Bucks when given the chance.
